Interest Check: Acacia

This is my first post in this community, so I apologize if I break some etiquette.

I've spent several hours browsing through the available RPs, and have even received invites from a few gracious folks, but I can't seem to find anything that is quite what I'm looking for. It appears that the RP scene has changed quite a bit from when I used to partake, and so in the interest of curiosity, I'd like to know how many people/who would be interested in a story line like the following:

-------------------------------------------
They'd read about it in books, saw it in the low-production films that littered the church congregation, and knew with unwavering faith that it would come, that they would be a part. They knocked on doors, handed out pamphlets, and raised billboards with one message to send: The apocalypse is coming.

And came it did. Many saw the souls of their loved ones ascend to the sky, and those night owls and third shift workers who chanced a glimpse out of shop windows saw the ephemeral glimmer of phantasms rising higher, higher, until finally disappearing into the velvet sky. Ghosts, they said. Or aliens. Or maybe chemical warfare. Was it just an illusion? Is this what happens as a result of global warming? All those years of preparing for the Second Coming, and no one even knew it when they saw it.

But the vampires had felt it coming for years now. It was the shift in energy and the ancient whispers of the wretched underground that made the elders realize everyone's world was about to change. Now that their food supply had been drastically reduced, changes needed to be made to the set of rules that governed Vampire Society, aptly called "The Masquerade."

Many vampires disagreed with what changes needed to be made. Some felt that the time was nigh for vampires to take their place as rulers of the Earth, while others cautioned that with limited food supply, a dominant position would jeopardize their survival. The humans were already panicked; stepping into the light would create more chaos, and a backlash that could result in the genocide of their kind. And so The Masquerade had been decided:

- No kindred shall kill a human. May they feed, then let live.
- No kindred shall make a progeny.
- No kindred shall make themselves known.
- Let no kindred break The Masquerade, lest they burn, or suffer the loss of their progeny.

But there was one vampire whose century-long slumber had delivered her far from hearing The Masquerade. The one hundred years during her dreaming had been disastrous for her coven, who, without her leadership, had collapsed into ruin. Once the most powerful, influential coven in the world, now her Manor had been condemned for its crumbling infrastructure, her progeny dead or lost, and her wealth deteriorated. She was nothing.

But just as her namesake, The Rose, flourishes even after decapitation, she would ascend, and when she thrust the lid of her coffin to the floor and stepped into the cloud of dust, through the shrieking of rats and the scuttling of spiders, there wasn't a vampire alive who didn't feel her presence. Acacia had risen; the Vampire Apocalypse had begun.
-------------------------------------------

Comments welcome. Obviously took some ideas from "Vampire: The Masquerade," but really only the bit about the rules. There are no "types" of vampires. I'd be happy to elaborate/create different covens/houses, but for right now, I'm just curious to see who would want to participate in something like this.

Ok. Be gentle. -wince.-
